What does it mean to be “green” at home? It starts with being aware of how you use energy, inside and outside your house, and consciously making sustainable choices–both environmentally and financially.
If you’re buying a newly constructed house, it means having access to state-of-the-art energy efficiency and sustainability in the home’s design. If you’re buying an older home, it means looking for energy-efficiency upgrades and/or making a plan to retrofit the home to be as sustainable and money-saving as possible.
